Blackfish

Imagine yourself being a great blackfish roaming the sea with your mother by your side, then suddenly a net grabs you and your mother as she’s desperately trying to escape you get frightened and struggle more then is needed. Suddenly you get brought to shore then hours later end up in what seems like a bathtub of water compared to the great ocean, as you look for your mother a human comes up to you and makes you do tricks, you don’t want to get they make you every day for years you preform tricks until your sanity breaks in the middle of a performance 10 years after you were captured. You end up drowning your trainer and suddenly your the one at fault. That’s the life of the blackfishes that have killed their trainers because of sanity breaking because of years of captivity.

A definite reason you should not support Sea World’s Orca program is because it keeps them in captivity and they become aware of everything and an accident like the one that happened to Dawn Brancheau during a live preformance, and said in the blackfish documentary, “If you were stuck in a bathtub for years wouldn’t you become a little psychotic?” Another piece of evidence is  from the Newsela article that states for PETA themselves “A bigger prison is still a prison.”

Should there be school uniforms?

Have you ever thought that your creativity was locked away because you weren’t allowed to express yourself? Maybe at home or at a friends house, so school is like this place to wear what you want, until that’s taken away and replaced with uniforms. The topic of school uniforms was been something that has been brought up A LOT of times, some debating that there should be school uniforms some debating that there shouldn’t. Here today, I will be telling you why you should not want school uniforms.

On the side of not wearing uniforms I have learned that school uniforms KILL STUDENTS CREATIVITY. I’m also not the only one who believed this, because there was an article that stated, “Kill’s students creativity, and innovation.” The reason I belive this is because the other side can argue that wearing normal clothes can get a child bullied, though I can argue that it kills their confidence. I say this because they do ‘t want to be bullied, I understand that, but they still need to be confident in their choice of wardrobe and try something new. That is why you should not want school uniforms.

One Word 2019 - Hopeful

As you read by the title, I chose the word “hopeful.” I chose this word because once I looked back at 2018 I realized I never truly believed in myself from my school work to me just having fun in general, I never really believed in myself, and whenever something bad happened I never thought it would get better. That’s why my word for 2019 is “hopeful” to represent the thing I never really had in 2018. Some examples of me denying myself is whenever Mrs. Moon’s about to announce to the class who got 100% on their tests, I would always say in my head “it’s now me,” or “I’m not smart enough to get 100%” yet when she announced my name, I still felt no hope I would get 100% on the other test I took a couple days after this test. Even after I got a 4 on my test which almost NO ONE got I still thought I wasn’t smart enough for that class. An example of my hopeless ness away from school is whenever me and my family play games I always think I would lose. That is why I picked the word “hopeful” because I want to be hopeful, and belive in myself. That’s why I chose that word.
